It was not a weapon. He was out training with as close as he could duplicate his actual weapon without carrying it where he shouldn't - but he's being charged for all that. Shame, Australia - all who have control over this. :(

Fair go the general public should know what the Australian military uniform looks like and any member of our community doesn't then they are a disgrace and should get their act together and support our men and women in the defense forces....... The reason we are able to live our lives the way we do is because of the men (and women) that have sacrificed so much for us!!!!!!!

this is complete and utter travesty of justice if he gets charged for this. people need to grow a pair and start facing up to what it takes to be free as a nation

This should never have even gone to court, yet Magisrates let worse off with a slap on the wrist. Wake up, he was training to defend our country and way of life, oh that's right we have to appease everyone else's way of life and not the Australian way of life

This is rediculous, he was only doing what a lot of us did when training for the special forces.

"Alert not alarmed" needs to be updated to "Alert not irrationally paranoid"

This is a ridiculous over reaction. These men and women should be praised for training to defend our country not treated like potential terrorists.
