I'm ex ADF (RAAF) and this guy, whilst he could have done things differently, was doing nothing wrong and is defending our nation.

He was a soldier training with pipe. Not a criminal. Police and judges need the retraining and education

His treatment is unacceptable, people had rights and can be as stupid as they like because of people like him. Protect our Defence.

The police responded to a concern but should have acted with intelligence and discretion once the facts were discovered.
This is either an example of zero tolerance taken to extreme stupidity or they are making an example of this guy when it is not needed.
Big fail QPS!

So disgusting how this situation is playing out... A bloke wants to be better and serve this nation and yet here he is getting hung out to dry. I hope the Army are supporting him, although based on my 12 years I would doubt it.

This is the most ridiculous act of overreaction I've ever seen!!! This poor unsuspecting individual was trying to better himself, for the good of our country and this is how he's treated? The magistrate should be ashamed of herself, the QPS should be embarrassed about the whole situation and the general public that reported him should've taken a second look at him to acknowledge the difference between a real threat and someone who was obviously jogging along minding his own business. Do NOT ruin his career, life, and spirit by taking this further.

How idiotic is it that this incident has led to charges of any sort? Everyone involved needs to give themselves a short sharp upper cut.

The magistrate isn't even offering a non-biased argument, this entire court case is a sham and a disgrace against serving men and women.
