Utterly ridiculous.. Police should be charged with stupidity. Magistrate must resign. Stand firm diggers.

Its sad to think we can not train out of hours because people can not recognize an Australian soldier, shame on the public.

No words can describe the stupidity of these charges or the society we live in where people will turn a blind eye to real crime and instead prey upon the very people who give them the freedom to criticize them and accuse them of pretend "crimes".

Seriously this is just ridiculous. As a former Victorian Police Officer I was confronted with exactly the same issue except there were two guys who were training for special forces selection. I offered the a lift as I thought they were being punished but was told the situation so I respected there decision to do every meter needed. Guys like this need to be respected and protected not prosecuted. Who stands between us and the enemy? They do!!!! Good luck mate!!!

Appalled by the judges comments so far. If suggesting he should have been charged with carrying a weapon, she shows her own negligence of the law she is to uphold

The police are overreaching and common sence would dictate a more intelligent and measured approach by an ever more paranoid police service , maybe some training is in order

What a disgrace. Queensland police have been considered the joke of policing throughout Australia for a long time, this just confirms it.

I will train with you! This is an outrage that a soldier with an "obvious training aid/simulated weight" cannot train in uniform. We have been doing this for years and nothing has ever been said. Now, because our government has let Islamic terrorists get a foot hold here, it has suddenly become a crime? Stand firm mate your back is covered.
