It's so sad that this has gotten to this point. I hope that person who reported the soldier realises what they have done and in fact they have become the public nuisance! Ridiculous!

This is a disgrace. Leave the poor bloke alone. He was training. It is not his fault some people are ignorant to what our soldiers uniform or a rifle for that matter look like. I understand people are scared right now, what with the media glorifying terrorism, but this is ridiculous. He is innocent and this should be thrown out. Please do not let us lose even more faith in our legal system.

Soldiers get criticism if overweight, this lad was simply working to protect his country and job.

Ridiculous- soldiers have been training this way for decades- not being able to carry their issued rifles on public streets they use pieces of pipe to simulate the weight and size of their issued kit

If this had of been Darwin , Townsville this is common practice and know one would of cared. You can wear a burqa and disclose your identity and conceal a weapon, but wearing an adf uniform with a training aid firearm, trying to get fit to serve the very people that would have complained is a joke.
