This is a perfect example of the rigidity of the law and the absence of sound judgement by the legal system. This was an act of complacency not malice.

As a former soldier of 20 plus years, I must say that this sort of training was practised regularly. This soldier shows outstanding dedication to do this in his own time. We rely on these men and women to keep us safe. Do the right thing!

We should stand by our soldiers and not radicaliz them. They do the job other wont.

So have we as a country deteriorated so far that we are now going to punish those training (in their own time) to go to war for our liberty and freedom. This is absolutely an utter disgrace. The police (who for some strange reason could not find this soldier) should have shook his hand and given him a lift home. So now training to protect your people is an offence is it when bashing wives and police are classified as minor. I am shamed to be an Australian.

The weapon he was carrying , anyone could see was a fake. If there was a war on, they wouldn't be prosecuting him

This was /is a common practice amoungst serving military personelle doing some private PT on their own time to be able to better serve the country, its absolutely rediculous that this incident has been blown out of all proportion, probably a malicious / nuisance complaint from a member of the public with an axe to grind in an attemt to incite an american style"SWATTING" incident , the police overreacted deplorably to a non event & the judge has gone way overboard. This mans life & carreer hang in the balance over a bit of pipe used for weight for training purposes.
