It is hard to advise students of their options when they don't know where they stand in class. Do they stay in the class? Do they need to withdraw? The withdrawal date passes and they still have no midterm grade to look at.

I have some professors who don't even use blackboard which makes it really hard to keep track of my grades in the class.

As an RA on campus, part of my job is to help my residents who are struggling academically. This is next to impossible to do this when the residents don't have an accurate measure of how they are performing in their classes. The students need to be given a chance to ask for academic help.

It would be very helpful esp for those students with teachers who only post grades after midterms :/

This would be great. At the end of the semester I always think I failed some classes and aced others and I'm always wrong.

As an alum of IIT, I wish this petition would have started when I was there. I couldn't agree more with the current students that these grades SHOULD be available for students.

This is a great cause with roots and end results that have affected students' reception of fair and clear grading in the past, and will hopefully improve the grading process quickly and consistently.

We really need this for our students. The situation is worse for grad students.

This is a serious problem that gets worse the higher your seniority. It would be helpful to have a running total to track progress.

It is very important for students to know their own study status.
