This petition is intended to improve the health and well-being of IH residents. It is holding to account the malpractice of the catering department and the underinvestment by the University of London. Signing this petition will make a real and long term difference to the IH residents so please support it.
- A fair quantity of food to be provided, to ensure all residents receive the same allowance regardless of their time of arrival during official meal times.
- In relation to the above point, we propose an increase in kitchen staff is essential to improve quality of service and volume of food.
- IH residents have serious concerns regarding the standard of hygiene in the catering department. There have been multiple instances of human and other foreign substances being found within the food. Including; eyelashes, plastic, string and a bug in a salad which was described by a catering staff member as a "normal occurrence".
- We seek an improvement in the quality of food in general. The changes in food allocation from last year justifies increased spending on fresh food of a higher standard this year, due to the fewer meal times available for our higher weekly fee. Notably more fresh meat, vegetables and a greater variety of fruit would be preferable.

im still reading through all the stories people are dropping in the comments about the dining hall and honestly it keeps me going when i feel frustrated. we are getting our points ready to present to the admin office so they cant just ignore us anymore.

im honestly blown away by how many people are backing this because it shows were all feeling the exact same frustration about these meals. im taking all your stories to the administration office soon so keep the pressure on.

the food is barely edible and half the time there is nothing left. sort it out.
Living off vending machine snacks because they run out of dinner by 7pm is a joke. We pay way too much for this.
Honestly the portions are embarrassing. How am I supposed to study when I'm starving?
Getting tired of showing up halfway through meal time to see empty trays. It happens every single day.
Used to be better but this year has been awful. Can't believe we pay this much for catering that doesn't actually cater for us.
