This is a petition for, as the title states, a group at St. Ignatius that recognizes the LGBTQ community. We realize that a full-on GSA is not possible, as it conflicts with the Catholic teaching of our school. Simply having some sort of group, though, that would help our LGBTQ students to feel comfortable with themselves at school would be amazing. We don't want to go against the Catholic church or our school, we merely aim to make everybody feel accepted, especially in a learning environment in which everyone should be able to feel safe.
