I strongly oppose the smelter due to the health concerns, environmental effects and the lack of concerns the company has shown and with no real benifit to the community.

Too many fragile ecosystems downwind, too much air and water pollution potential...

I'm a very open-minded individual, but this proposed smelter just does not make any common sense! Way too close to sooooo many people!

This is a pristine area. Not an area for a smelter.

Own cabin 18 miles north of Sandpoint.
Proposed smelter should not be built!!!
This is an environmental disaster for people, wildlife, lakes, and rivers. Will not provide any decent jobs for locals. Who will want to move here and vacation here?
Area will become a stinky, noisy, polluted mess! Keep this company in Canada!
There was a reason my family settled here 103 years ago. Beautiful place! Let’s keep it this way!!! By the way, my family members live in Newport, Wa. and Priest River, Id. where my grandfather homesteaded.

If this where 10 miles out of town I most likely had not been so concerted. Given the close proximity to town I'm agree this is even being considered.
