This plant needs to be stopped before the area turns into another Libby or Troy Montana and Kellogg Idaho or even like the town in Iceland that has a silicon smelter for which the residents are having breathing issues as well as measurable increase in arsenic levels. There's a reason why the Canadians don't want this

Please, no smelter! We moved to Priest River, from Virginia, 30 years ago for the safe family environment, fresh air, clean water, and outside country living! This area does not need the pollution nor the jobs! I worked in Hayden and my husband in Spokane for 20+ years and we didn't mind the drive because the lifestyle is so rich here! Every day on my way home it was like going on vacation. The beauty is unmatched...please don't let it all be ruined for greed!

I have yet to hear any information that makes me think having the smelter here is a good idea.

I oppose the building of this Smelter plant. I am a property owner, and a long time resident. I am opposed to it for the health concerns and environmental damage this will do to our area.

I live in the Priest River/Oldtown Idaho area and I am against putting a smelter plant in the local area due to the wast and pollution that comes from these kind of plants.

Smelter may be needed but is in wrong location. Locate in an existing unused industrial site.

This smelter will pollute our air, water and soil for generations to come. It is not on the best interest of the people here.

Looking to buy a home in the area, I will not even consider it if this plant is built.

We are a residential community. Part of our economy is based on hunting, fishing, tourism and other outdoor activities. All will be eliminated by the pollutants caused by this mass industry. Wildlife will die, water sources will be compromised, and the danger it will bring to local schools, cities, and hospital services make this a poorly thought out plan, This proposed site is too close to the local population. Place this facility in a pre-existing industrial area.

Please let's stop this project. They may make smoke on their country.

The proposed site for this smelter is too close to residential areas, is too close to water recharge zones for two cities, and will produce polluting air emissions in an area that already has air quality problems. Also the company proposing this is brand new and does not have sufficient experience nor has it proven to be able to reliably finance such an expensive operation.

This is not a good site. Way too industrial.
