The location of the smelter will hurt and damage our eco system, our health and our communities. Don't lose sight of what we have and what we stand to lose.

I want to keep my dark night skies, my sweet smelling forest, my quiet days and nights, my cold, clear and delicious water, and what little good health in the time I have left. I didn't retire and build my dream here to have it wisked away without so much as a by your leave! As anyone who knows me, I've said many times that the only way I'm leaving here is in a pine box! I pray that'll be a long time from now, but not with this monstrosity just 3 miles away. NO!

This will not be good for our area. Take a good look at Trail, British Colombia and see what a smelter town looks like.

Concerns over HiTest claims on pollution being released. Concerned over wildlife and human health as well as water/air/ground contamination. Concerned over lack of infrastructure to support trucks. Concerned of the location and proximity of schools, hospitals and retirement centers. Too many questions which HiTest doesn’t have as evident of their lack of response to community member questions at meeting. It appears HiTest deflects the hard questions which a reasonable business owner should know.

This is crazy! Who would give up the health of their community/region in exchange for a few jobs?
