A reintroduced US House bill could stop ICD-10.
Rep Ted Poe (R-Texas) with support from Blake Farenthold (R-Texas), Phil Roe (R-Tennessee), Mike Rogers (R-Alabama), Mo Brooks (R-Alabama), Morgan Griffith (R-Virginia) and Tom Price (R-Georgia) have reintroduced a House bill to block the transition to ICD-10 in October stating it would put an unnecessary strain on the medical community. The incoming president of the AMA is also behind this bill for ICD-10 to not only be delayed, but to completely throw out ICD-10 and wait for the implementation of ICD-11.
As coders - It's time for our voice to be heard on ICD-10.
