I think this decision is an ill wind. Council should have considered the relevant facts before taking this decision. there is nothing that shows that council has followed its own rule in a situation like this. reversing this decision is the only way to go.

I urge Council to reverse it's decision and allow the democratic process to continue. Your initial decision runs the risk of UK District Society falling to pieces.
Council's decision sets a very worrying precedence, by allowing a petition from a non financial member to question a process to which by virtual of his non financial membership he his not eligible to question under existing Bye law rules.

This is a sad development; a lot of efforts have gone into trying to get the UKDS back on track but some people are bent on discrediting others rather than joining in rebuilding the District. The Council should stand by its rules and support the CTC.
