We have much respect for Bubba and know that he always has the best interests of his players in all that he does! Our boys are now missing out on him as their club coach which is completely unfair…shouldn’t it be innocent until proven guilty!! We stand with you Bubba

I would hope any reasonable person would step in to de escalate a situation like this. He responded calmly appropriately and in line with reasonable expectations.

Have seen footage of incident and agree that intervention was necessary, wherein the actions of the alleged, were of a benevolent nature and at no point was anyone involved negatively impacted by the actions of the alleged.

I’ve known Iain and his family for many years through rugby and the wider community, and he is genuinely one of the most caring people I know when it comes to kids and looking after others. Having also spent many years involved in coaching junior rugby, I know the amount of time, care, and energy people like Bubba put into supporting young players and creating a safe and positive environment around the game. I wouldn’t hesitate to have any of my own children under his care or guidance. While the investigation should absolutely be allowed to run its course fairly, I also believe it’s important that people remember the kind of person Bubba is, the intentions behind his actions, and the positive impact he has had on so many kids and families over the years. The rugby community is better for having people like Bubba involved, and I’m thinking of him and his family during what I’m sure is a very difficult time.

I fully support Bubba’s reinstatement while the investigation proceeds. He has always put player welfare first and has been a respected, positive influence within junior rugby for many years. His actions came from concern for the safety of the children involved, and he deserves fair consideration and continued support from the community.

I’ve known Iain for 20 + years. He has always been a great clubman for the Hawks and a great person. The last few years I’ve seen him coach Hawks and Wildfires. He’s a great role model for the young men he coaches and has always done the right thing by his team.

Bubba is a respectable person in and around the club and serves with distinction. This is a defamation of character

Support Iain 100% based on personal interactions and seeing first hand how he coaches and carries himself while carrying out those duties. Never have I seen him step over the line in his position as coach and Rugby volunteer

Anyone who knows you knows the type of person you are and the values you stand for. Your commitment to the kids, the club, and the wider rugby community over so many years, and countless hours, speaks for itself. You’ve always put player welfare, development, and the wellbeing of the kids first, and I know so many families and people within the community recognise and appreciate that.

The process should not assume guilt and should not preclude him from a role that he was not fulfilling on the day - Hamilton Hwaks junior coach.
