As Coronavirus continues to expand within the United States, major airports such as the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) fail to establish proper screening mechanisms to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus. Dulles is known for being the major airport that connects the DMV area. There are direct flights to and from China every single day. This worldwide epidemic must be taken seriously and the government should not endanger the citizens of the United States of America. Establishing inspection mechanisms also informs citizens and non-citizens on the situational awareness of the Coronavirus. Therefore, we are here to strongly urge the IAD airport to take necessary steps to protect the the lives of citizens.

The feedback I have received from many of you highlights a shared anxiety regarding the lack of clear health protocols at our airport. I am currently working to compile these concerns into a formal document to present to the airport administration. This process takes time but it is necessary to ensure our message is presented with the seriousness the situation demands.

Reaching this level of support confirms that many people share a deep concern for our public safety at the airport. I am observing how our collective focus on these inspection protocols is helping to shift the perspective of those in charge. This momentum suggests that our concerns are no longer being overlooked.

My family lives near dulles and we are scared. Why are we waiting for people to get sick before we check them at the gate?
Please start the higher grade of health examination to stop the virus from China
We have a huge population of mainland Chinese here in DMV. Many people left Wuhan just before the lockdown. They’re making their way back to the US through other cities, so their flights aren’t going to be from Wuhan (direct/indirect). All inbound Chinese flights should be screened at IAD.
Screening is the most basic step to protect everybody. MWAA needs to also have SOP for dealing with suspected cases.
It’s a MUST to do the screening at IAD airport! IAD is the primary international airport in Washington DC metropolitan area.
Need to actively prevent and detect possible virus infected passengers at IAD!

PLEASE screen everyone coming off these flights. It is just common sense to check for fevers before letting people into the city.
