Physical Therapists Opposed to OrthoNet Business Practices

health care decisions should be made between the patient and the dr who is examining the patient. healing is an intimate, one on one experience.

I want to be sure I have access to, and can afford the care I need to heal my body. Patients and providers need to have more control over healthcare decisions, not less.

A person's health needs should be between them and their doctor.

Physical therapy saves money in the long run by fixing the problem before it turns into much larger issues down the road.

The reason we went with Anthem Blue Cross was because of the therapy benefits, knowing that therapists and MD's were justifying treatment. Middle management should NOT make the decisions that Dr's and therapists have spent YEARS training to make. If this is not rectified, we will be changing insurance companies.

This seems like an increase in cost for OrthoNet and a burden for everyone else in the system. If OrthoNet did not approve my physical therapy, I would go back to my doctor or a specialist to reinstate the referral.

My doctor and physical therapist know what is best for me.

Please do not hurt people by micro $$$$ managing these necessary services! The MDs and PTs are great work here!

Orthonet has no idea of how many physical therapy visits i would need for an injury therefore they should not be making these decisions!

This is so necessary to stop from passing. There is no way that some body sitting in an office, unfamiliar with my body and its injuries and such to be making the decisions that I depend on my doctor and the therapist for making. it is outrageous!

I strongly oppose this action by Blue Cross. It is destined to take away the ability of physical therapists to be able to provide direct access as provided by law in the state of California. Additionally, it opens up the possibility of denying patients the ability to seek physical therapy due to the extremely narrow guidelines for denial by ORHTONET. Additionally, what credentials does the reviewer have and why are they making decisions when they have no idea of the presentation of the patient - their decisions are simply arbitrary.

This is a decision only between my Doctor, Therapist, and myself. Third party's 'cut' corners to save costs and get themselves paid. It is shameful on ANTHEM to even think of this as a means to 'solve' anything. My health and records are not to be shared with anyone.

This is a very bad example of outsourcing.

I strongly oppose allowing a third party determine my Physical Therapy needs. I fully expect Blue Cross to honor the fact that I am a paying customer.

Do not allow them to join forces with orthonet! There is no patient benefit from this.

Orthonet has to be stopped, patients in crisis conditions are being coming more debilitated because of this managed approach to health care
