Physical Therapists Opposed to OrthoNet Business Practices

The State of Ct recently changed our state health insurance contract for retirees to Aetna from UnitedHealth. Under United Health I had Physical Therapy treatment based on my need and never had a problem. Aetna contracts with OrthoNet. The last time I went to my Physical Therapist I was told I had 6 sessions. I am working with my retiree union to contest this restriction based on nothing to do with my physical therapy medical needs.

We, hear at peak sport and spine, continue to have issues with Ortho Net being able to dictate if our patients are done with service or not, we would love a response from anyone, who has also had a problem with Orth Net, not wanting to continue coverage on a patient.

Ortho Net is the worst

Is anyone from Missouri that is willing to file a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General. The insurance commission is okay but I'm going after OrthoNet losing their registration to have a business in Missouri!

OrthoNet is sending my son backwards, It takes a week and a half to get approval for 1 therapy when the Orthopedic ordered 2 a week for 4 weeks. Their Medical Director is a 70 year old Internist in Internal Medicine that says 80% of therapist have no idea what they are talking about. If you can tie your shoes and grab your wallet you are done. This Medical Director in my opinion is an IDIOT!

Orthonet as a fourth party administrator, all medicare managed care products...we need to file suit, we are a spine surgery practice ...they are killing us

By far, the worse company ever to have existed. I can't believe they have any employees. I would be embarrassed and ashamed to ever work for this disgusting bottom of the septic tank company. They are unqualified, aholes doing nothing but taking away benefits you paid for in your plan so they can pocket the profit. They make money off of not providing services that are paid for in your health care plan. I can't believe any respectable company would hire them to subcontract their benefits. Anthem BCBS has gone in the toilet because of thsee maggots.

I work in an outpatient center and see first hand the abusive practices of OrthoNet. The OrthoNet representatives I have spoken with are unprofessional and demonstrate very rude behavior to patients and to staff. I have asked for credentials of "supposed clinicians" handling decisions in medical review, and they refuse to be transparent. Many people on these plans are paying high premiums with high deductibles and are then restricted in their access to care. Makes no sense to me. Maybe we should create a forum of education so employers and the consumer will make more informed decisions when choosing a carrier. We provide the phone number to department of insurance so patients can file consumer complaints against their carrier for these and other abusive practices.

No more OrthoNet!

Keep much needed PT professionals profitably in the game. Regardless of lobbying power or lack thereof, once the doc is done, sometimes before, PT's put us back together

I am both a patient and a medical doctor, and I have been appalled at the behavior of Orthonet in denying needed physical therapy services to clients. Since when is 3 visits during a 2 month period an acceptable amount of therapy for someone recovering from hip surgery? OrthoNet should be closed PERMANENTLY as they contribute NOTHING of value to our healthcare system and instead make it a point to exercise jurisdiction over an area they are underqualified to comment on.

I broke my femur and had a titanium rod inserted and locked in with screws in my hip and knee. I had to learn to walk again but was only given 20 sessions per insurance to get back to normal. An insurance provider shouldn't be able to decide how much care and rehibilitation I need!!! My doctors and physical therapist should be able to decide and tell the insurance what I need rather than someone sitting behind a desk who has put me inside a box linked with other people who have less severe injuries. Whatever happened to people as individuals.

Orthonet should be sued in a class action suit for withholding medically necessary services

Orthonet is not giving me more Physical Therapy after shoulder surgery 3 months ago Stating that PT notes show that it is not helping me get better. Which is totally false! I have improved but my othopedic surgeon requested more PT to help severe muscle spasms. Only want 6 more visits and I have 47 PT visits left in the year. And Orthonet said No !! I can't work full time due to muscle pain. Very frustrated !!!

I work for Orthonet. Orthonet is owned by United Health Group, UHG, and this fact is hidden from competing providers such as AmeriHealth to the detriment of these companies. Orthonet provides false information to providers - I am sure of this. Orthonet tells providers that orthopedic surgery cases are being reviewed by an orthopedic surgeon when in fact they use people with a chriropractic background to do the reviews. Orthonet is owned by your competitor UHG and they hide this fact from you while gaining information about your company. Orthonet is a very unethical company - I have reported them to CMS for fraud. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY - IT IS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS!

Orthonet has been delayed. and should stay gone.

I do not want a middle man making medical decisions for me. A doctor or physical therapist should make that decision.

It's just and simply FAIR. ;)

This is another example of over administrating healthcare. If doctors and patients determine healthcare needs we don't need all the expensive administrators.
