The city council officially approved the construction of the dog park after reviewing our proposal. We are now transitioning into the site development phase and will post updates regarding the volunteer work days once the city releases the plot schedule.
We are collecting signatures to raise interest and support for opening a dog park in Cherokee, IA. We are currently looking into fundraising opportunities and volunteers to join the planning committee.
I am currently finalizing a proposal for the local parks department to review. This document outlines potential site locations and maintenance expectations for the facility.

This is so needed in the community. We have so many great trails and parks, but nothing safe specifically for pet owners.

We need a dog park in town. There is nowhere to let out dogs roam without worry. We used to take them to the call Feilds but the school has expressed they don’t us to do that either.

I'm recently new to Cherokee after graduating college, and even though I don't currently have a dog. I come from a community that does have a dog park. It's a great way to get dogs out to run, and exercise other than walking them around town. The dogs enjoy it, and the people do too! I eventually want to have a dog, and I know I would want to have a place for him/her to run. People and dogs in my home community love our dog park, and I know it would be a great asset for Cherokee as well.

I support a dog park in Cherokee. Would regularly enjoy and do my park to keep it clean for everyone else to enjoy as well.

I would come back home way more often. Cherokee needs more things to do. The community is still struggling after Tyson. This would also gives the kids something else to do. Since, there is nothing for them.

It would be great for both the dogs and their owners to have somewhere to hang out, run, and play!
