They definitely need to punish violent offenders more harshly. They're back on the street too soon, causing danger to the victims as well as fear. Some are never even sent to jail after physically and verbally treating to kill someone they are set free, how safe does that make the victim feel. Why is the system not there for them. It seems the law does more for the offenders than victimd.

I know my exhusband who beat me, raped me and scarred me several times had abused others before me and even though I went before a judge stating those facts he was allowed to go on to abuse other women.

This legislation is necessary in helping keep victims safe and empowering them to move forward with their lives. I am a survivor of DV and was shot in the head by my abuser in 2014 and am certain that his time in jail is the only way I could do this! Please support this bill!!!

It is time to protect the victims from these offenders that are manipulative and dangerous. They are manipulating the legal system and get out and do it again.
