I realize we live in an age where we cannot assume intelligence. That being said, pollinators such as bees are critically important. If a person fails to remember the basics of elementary school, honey bees generally do not sting unless they are protecting their queen. What they do is create an environment where flowers bloom, where trees produce fruit, where plants in general function. Without them, they do not function. What we need to ask at this point is this; are we a permisive community who seeks the better for our local environment, or are we a permission seeking community who does not love flowers, fruit, and the rich greens we live with? If you're unclear of the ramifications, I suggest spending a couple of hours watching "Bee Movie" with Jerry Seinfeld.

The flying yellow insects that bite are WASPS and HORNETS. Honey bees are NOT carnivorous and will not attack Even the White House has policy PROTECTING the honeybee!! Save the BEES!! Humans cannot survive without them-experts predict humankind would expire within 4 years without honeybees, thanks to their pollination of 40% of our food supply Crops include almost all vegetables and most fruits, tree nuts and alfalfa for cattle. Honeybees provide @80% of the insect pollination in the US Honey bees are in peril and need our support, and hobby bee keepers are their guardians. VOTE IN SUPPORT OF THE BEES AND THEIR KEEPERS!! We ALL benefit!!

I will never understand why a person would get fined/charged a fee for helping the environment. We need MORE beekeepers.

These are honey bees, they go to collect pollen and bring I back to the hive. Not agressive except to protect the hive. Put up warning signs 100 ft in all directions like they do for hunting. Problem solved.

We really need to start encouraging more people to keep bees, as opposed to punishing those who do.
People who are allergic to stings should A) Always carry an epipen, just in case; and B) Leave the bees do their jobs and don't bother them ... they really only sting if they are being physically threatened in some way.

Bees are imperative to our existence, and their numbers have been plummeting. Banning beekeeping in our community also means that we are restricting the ability for the residents to grow their own food, for local farmers to grow food, and are contributing to the downfall of the largest population of pollenators on the planet. Simply put, the bees need us right now as much as we need them, and Millcreek can help by allowing residents to practice beekeeping. Please do revise this policy. Thank you.
