Officer Kerrick should have never been charged. This trial was nothing but an attempt to please special interest groups and was orchestrated Chief Monroe .

Officer Kerrick is innocent. Nobody deserves to be treated like this. Officer Kerrick was doing his job and should not have been put on trial in the first place. The only reason this is turning into a big deal is due to uninformed people trying to turn this into a hate crime.

As a NC taxpayer, I believe it would be foolish to consider retrying Officer Kerrick. The circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Ferrell were tragic however, as my Father said to me, “On the side of the road is not the time to differ with a police office. Let them do their job and I will help you sort through the fact later. If the officer is proven wrong, he or she will be disciplined by their department or the state.” A hung jury of eight for acquittal and four for a conviction is telling and thank you Dad for your words of wisdom!
