I support Officer Kerrick and his career. I do not know him personally nor do I work in the profession, but I do believe in the work that the police do. Officer Kerrick was doing his job and I'm safer as a Chatlotte resident because of the service that he provides to my city.

I believe Officer Kerrick acted accordingly in the situation he was in - not Monday morning quarterbacking but I accept his decisions - from a 28 year veteran

As a former Police officer I can imagine what went through Officer Kerrick's mind in that few seconds. He had to make the decision and did. The Dept did him and all the Officers of the CMPD dirty. I have many friends that work there and hope that there will answers soon.

There is no need to waste our tax paying dollars to retry a case that has already been proven that a mistrial was declared due to 8- Not Guilty and 4- Guilty. It's time to rest this case and see that the charges against Officer Kerrick are dismissed immediately. On a side note this will not have a positive reaction to any type of political action so take the advice of the voting people and dismiss the charges before it cost u an election in 2016 Mr Cooper

The grand jury didn't want it to go to trial and the jurors were 8-4 for no charges! No retrial!

There needs to be a revamping of the prosecutors in the Charlotte and surrounding counties. Prosecutorial lack of experience or overreach of power is rampant. Mecklenburg with Officer Kerrick's charges and an Iredell County prosecutor is stubbornly set on trying a 98% deceased person. I don't know of anyone that is comatose who has the ability to drive much less commit a crime. Guess the prosecutor will conjure up a crime, since the laws do not support his stance. Prosecutorial overreach and abuse of power seems to be rampant in these counties and there needs to be a revamping of the prosecutors with people that are intelligent and collaborative. Never in a million years would I thought I would have seen such reprehensible conduct and abuse of power. Some prosecutors just do NOT learn ethics or "law" in law school and the general public suffers greatly.
