I support this police officer. He did what any other person in this situation would have done. He defended his own life.

2 times to get an indictment thru grand jury... A mistrial from a jury trial thru the justice system due process ... It will not be justice or due process to have a re-trial of this officer.

If the suspect followed the officer's command, instead of attacking him, he would still be alive.

Stop. When will enough be enough. It is like children when they don't get their way. Cry and shout, lay in the road and try to tear up things. Two Grand Juries and one month long trial is enough of tax money. Let the Ferrell family pay for the next trial if they really want it.

Officer Kerrick defended himself - do not have another trial.

I believe that if you pull your pants up and run towards I cop after they told you to get down then yes you should be shot. Obey the law it's not that hard.

When will people learn that when you charge a police officer you are in the wrong. The consequences can end up fatal as we se here. To take this back to trial would send a message to all police officers that the system is not interested in doing what is right by the law. Instead of criminals and people learning not to give an officer any reason to shoot or use the taser it will cause any police officer that is trying to do a good job out there and protect himself to get out of that line of work . Who wins? The criminal and people that don't respect people trying to protect the public.

I agree this is a tragic incident for all involved; however, I support Officer Kerrick in the right to defend himself. "Hands" are also a weapon and I feel Ferrell intended to take Officer Kerrick's life if he could have gotten his gun or hands around his throat. With an 8-4 vote, I feel this should not be a retrial. There can be no winners in this situation. Please do not put the Officer's family and the taxpayers through another trial. Thank you.

Worst state case in history. Cooper and his employees get an F on this prosecution. If I were their boss, I would fire the entire lot for being stupid and incompetent in their duties. Oh wait, we are their boss. Vote for anybody but Cooper. When Cooper did the second Grand Jury, I sent him a letter asking if this was a shot across the bow declaring his run for GOV. 3-4 weeks later he did and even asked for a donation. Yeah right ex AG.

He did not shoot an unarmed black man, he shot someone that attacked him with intent to inflict harm to him.

I believe this young police officer acted accordingly in the line of duty. I appreciate him and all law enforcement putting their lives on the line every day they go to work.
