I Support Officer Kerrick

I think he was protecting his own life. Why did Ferrel not pick up his cellphone and call police after he wrecked instead of trying to knock down someone's door? Why did he charge toward the officers when they got there?

Media turns everything into a "race issue" when in reality, if this man would have gotten down like asked, instead of charging at the officer, he wouldn't have been shot. This whole ordeal is stupid.

There is too much grey in this case to try to change the world. Please remember that he is a person too!

Agreed 100%+. Kerrick defended his life and the video and evidence showed that. For that reason alone, this was a frivolous lawsuit and any entities promoting the lawsuit should be held responsible in a class action suit.

How man times do you have to try to persecute one man? Please consider very carefully your decision.

Kerrick defended his life from attack and was justified.

Why didn't the Ferrells file a negligent claim against Rodney Monroe, because Monroe ultimately is the one that is responsible for training and outcome of any officer conduct? Was his premature payoff to the Ferrells the reason they did not file suit against Monroe's negligence of training and supervision?

Is it possible that Kerrick and the taxpayers of Charlotte would file a class action law suit against Monroe, Ferrell's recipients of the millions of dollars that Monroe gave them, and the AG for filing a frivolous lawsuit against Kerrick? 2. Could Rodney Monroe be held liable personally and as an officer of the City responsible for the training and behaviors of his police officers and negligently transferring millions of dollars to Ferrell's estate or to people individually, Could Kerrick and the taxpayers of Charlotte file a class action lawsuit against the recipients. personally and any other entity, who directly or indirectly received any of the Monroe giveaway to the Ferrells, his estate or other folks who received any of the millions settlement?

Let the police do there job.

I am so saddened that what appeared to be a very fine young man lost his life. However, he made a series of huge mistakes (just like the people who text and drive) that made him culpable for his own demise. However tragic, Officer Kerrick should not pay the price for those mistakes even though the political climate would suggest otherwise.

The jury was 8 for an acquittal. You will never have 12 people to agree on a guilty verdict. When you consider the cost for another trial and the cost to businesses and Charlotte for the aftermath of this trial, it is ridiculous to throw away money to obtain the same results. The officer was in fear for his life. WHat is so hard to understand? When are people going to realize whether you like it or not, police are the authority, and until you respect them, you will not get respect! When an officer says, "Get on the ground", you do it! Enough said!

This entire process was almost unbelievable to follow, from evidence of lab results being "lost or never completed," to sudden retirements, to quick financial settlements and the bias of the news media presenting misinformation. Career assassination was committed for following basic training and survival. There are people who would have been happier if he had been killed and named a park after him. He should not be retried but should receive back pay and a federal investigation into these matters should be conducted.
