Lux Preparatory Academy is a proposed, tuition-free K-5 charter elementary school for the students and families of Southwest Atlanta. We are scheduled to open in the Fall 2022.
Lux Preparatory Academy partners with families and the community to provide our K-5 students with a stimulating, inquiry-based learning environment that affirms our students' identities through culturally responsive practices that will prepare our students for middle school and beyond.
With our inquiry and project-based approach, culturally responsive curriculum and instruction, culturally competent teachers, and social-emotional learning, we will cultivate a community of academically successful learners, liberated, innovative problem solvers, and confident communicators that will positively impact change within their community and the world around them.
I am signing this petition to support the mission of Lux Preparatory Academy, and I would like to see Lux Preparatory Academy open in the fall of 2022.

The feedback regarding our mission for an inquiry-based curriculum in Southwest Atlanta continues to reinforce the necessity of this project. I have spent the recent days meeting with local families to refine our vision for the inaugural academic year. Our planning process remains focused on ensuring that every child receives the exceptional educational experience they deserve.

Atlanta deserves more schools where every child’s genius is cultivated. Lux Prepatory Academy is going to change lives and I am enthusiastically in support of the opening of the school.
