Clarkston Academyis a proposed K-5th grade, tuition-free public charter school for Dekalb County School District.
MISSION: The mission of Clarkston Academy is to employ a culturally-responsive curriculum and intensive English language instruction to enable English Language Learners to become successful scholars and effective advocates for their communities.
I am signing this petition to affirm that I have read Clarkston Academy's mission, I believe in this mission, and I would like to see Clarkston Academy open as a free, public charter school in the fall of 2017.

I honestly never imagined we would get this much energy behind the idea of a new school for our kids because sometimes it feels like talking to a brick wall. People are actually listening now and it feels like the whole neighborhood is finally waking up to how much we need this curriculum for our students.

YES! Finally someone is doing something about the language barrier in our schools. Hope this gets approved soon!
This area really needs more options for the kids. Clarkston Academy sounds like a solid plan for everyone involved.
I feel Clarkston Academy will be an asset to this community and hopefully be an inspiration to other communities with the same demographics. I would love to see this become a reality
Sounds great to me! I'm especially familiar with the folks who've recently come from Myanmar via camps in Thailand - I am friends with a family of 6.
I support this petition...it is necessary for all children raised in our community of America to have an education that helps them become good citizens.
