We must protect the right to have opinions even if those opinions are different from our own.

Civil disagreements should always be treasured in a civil society. Disagreeing with an ideological construct should not land somebody in jail! Nor should a tweet! It's a bloody tweet! You're allowing somebody's life to be ruined because of a... tweet?! This is a supreme violation of free speech laws and ethics and a violation of the justice system.Do the right thing and free Gregory, give him his life back and ensure nobody can try something as stupid as using the justice system to enforce "wah! nobody tweet disagreements wiv me wah!"

No ones natural right of freedom of thought and speech should ever be stifled. To do so is a disgusting mockery that besmirches Western values. Give Mr.Elliot your support so that these rights show exactly why we have them. Stay strong Mr.Elliot and god bless.

I read about his professional life and persona through his family's fundraiser page and it really connected with me. I want to help fight for others who have been the victims of these tragedies. I can't imagine if something this terrible would happen to me.

Feminofascism in action. But with "help" of this fem-movement maybe more man will think about his rights. Modern laws - trash slaving for man Patriarchy - trash slaving for man Man need only: 1) equal ALL rights 2) real private property 3) real private life

This case is absolutely disgusting, I wish I could financially help but all I can do for now is spread the word.

People forget the purpose of free speech, it isn't so that I can call someone a fake and gay foreign person giggle about it and then quickly run away, the purpose is to obviate the emergence of violence in a society built on liberal plurality, because if you mitigate the ability to express a thought it doesn't actually stop the thought existing, people will go underground and radicalise their views and attempt coup d'état. The idea is that we establish a peaceful conflict and agree to certain operational first principals given the context that we understand that adherence to such is a net less bad against the terror of violence. Any system of pluralism must be at least exceptional enough in that it's able to defend its pluralism otherwise the pluralism can't exist. These feminists are morons.

Absolute shame that this man has been charged with such serious accusations for simply disagreeing with a feminist. Keep free speech in Canada alive

The man is already punished for years being banned by accessing the Internet, while his job was on the Internet. Who is going to give his life back? The Law in Canada, under Feminism, is one of the scariest things as a man. If any Feminist can ruin your life for such meaningless things such as words, you start to fear women since as a man you are clearly a second class citizen. Lucky me I'm an immigrant with more rights than citizens, and that's why I'm reluctant in getting the Citizenship. Canada discriminates openly against men on every level conceivable.

The fact that this trial not only reached the court but was not immediately thrown makes me ashamed to be a Canadian. These vile women who pushed this forward should be punished and shunned to the full extent of the law. At the very least, this travesty should be linked inextricably to their names for any future Google searches.

This is a gross miscarriage of justice. No person should be ruined financially and mentally because their tweets offended someone on twitter. There is something rotten in these charges, I can't believe a crown prosecutor would agree to waste taxpayer money and the court's resources on these ridiculous charges. We must stand up for Gregory Alan Elliot. We are all Gregory Alan Elliot.

The trial is an utter joke, and an affront to free speech.

When you defend anyone who's right for freedom of speech is being restricted - or taken away, you're defending your own right for freedom of speech. Because that restriction could be applied to you if everyone did nothing.
