The right to free speech is fundamental to all the other God-given rights we enjoy.

the fact that a man has been charged with voicing an opinion online on Twitter and could be facing jail time is disgusting enough but that currently he has been banned from using said internet is beyond crazy. This is not fair and free, not at all

If he did not threaten or harass those women then why on Earth is he in this trial. Does anyone who supports them really want to live in a world where disagreeing with someone is punishable by jail time if that person is some sort of protected class (because somehow that means they can't be wrong).

This is terrible. It is just downright evil for one to target someone's way of living all because they disagreed with what they said online. I honestly think the one who should be on trial should be Guthrie as she has showed in court that she has no respect for the freedoms of others and is willing to file charges all for the fact a man was trying to protect himself from being called a pedophilia.

The way you've been treated by these professional con artists, as well as the treatment of the crown, has been nothing but a disgrace to real Canadians. We may not have the same speech protections as the USA, however nothing you have done could be construed as criminal harassment. Feelings override logic these days, and it is a sad state of affairs.

I am signing this petition because I do not support the right for manipulative and mischievous people to be able to so easily take a person to court over an internet dispute that both parties were willing participants in. I believe in free speech and I do not think that what Elliot has said and done does not constitute harassment. I am worried that if he is convicted that this will set a dangerous precedent for the application of free speech rights. I also believe that the response to situations like this needs to be more measured and mature. I can not believe that this trial has gone on for years.

Freedom of speech means you have to take the bad with the good. Disagreeing with someone on the Internet is not a crime!

Cultural marxism (AKA "political correctness") needs to be utterly destroyed and there should be total freedom of speech, especially on the internet.

I understand that Canada isn't the U.S., but the fact is that freedom of speech and the right to disagree with others is a fundamental right in every Enlightened society. Mr. Elliott must be allowed his say. no matter unpleasant it is to sensitive ears and eyes. Just because someone doesn't like what I have to say about them doesn't mean that I'm harassing them.
