I believe every parent in Mississippi should be able to choose a fully funded public school for their child's education. The MS Legislature is proposing to under-fund our schools by hundreds of millions of dollars again in 2016. Lawmakers also propose to give away $30 million of our tax dollars to private, charter and home schools through vouchers. Sign the petition below and tell Mississippi lawmakers that you insist public schools be fully funded first! Mississippi's children deserve quality public schools. ‪#‎FedUpWith50th‬!

90% of school children are in public schools, including my 2 children. My district has lost 41 staff jobs bc of shortage of funds, and classrooms are packed full. State leaders are failing our children. Send our taxes back to our schools!

As a former resident (1993-2011) of MS, a member of higher education, and a school psychologists, I support full funding for MS public schools. There should never be a question regarding providing what should be the very basic resources for the students and those who educate them.

A voucher program will only weaken our underfunded schools. Every child is entitled to by law an adequate public education. Our legislature is breaking their own laws. We will never attract new business if we can't provide them a decently educated work force.

It is high time that you fully fund our FUTURE! We are tired of being last. We are tired of teachers being pushed past their limits for very little pay. We are tired of large class sizes, outdated materials, and more and more pressure. Please, do what is right! Fully fund education!

Our public schools deserve to be fully funded. We are fed up with 50th. My children go to a school where they do not even have enough text books for each student. That is ridiculous. Our schools need money to better educate our children.

As the parents of 3 children in the Ocean Springs school district, business and property owners, We expect our legislators to fully fund public school with our hard earned tax dollars! No to vouchers and no to silencing teachers and administrators who speak out on behalf of our children!

Privatization hasn't worked with prisons or education. It's time governmental stewards start working for the people.
