Separation of Church and State goes both ways. It is there to not only ensure no one religion is sponsored by the government, but also protect individuals ability to worship how they choose. The school is wrong here.

Isn't this one of the main reasons our founding fathers came to America, religious freedom?

May God bless Coach Kennedy for praising God in public! Shame on this country for pushing God out. Even so come Lord Jesus!

Praying that you also will be allowed to pray without punishment but there are persecuted Christians in this whole world and it is worth it to stand up for Christ because He has already paid the price for us!

God give you strength in the face of persecution. I pray for you and all persecuted Christians for whom just because of their faith they are targeted and ridiculed.

Freedom of religion in our constitution is not freedom FROM religion. No one should be forced to hide his faith.

I graduated from Central Kitsap High School and am embarrassed that the nearby Bremerton school district is behaving like this. They need to read the history of our country's independence.

If people want to join him, let them. If you don't want to, don't.

May we all have the courage to stand for Jesus every day in every situation, regardless of the outcome. Thank you Coach Kennedy!!

Read the First Amendment: Government may not restrict the free expression of our religion, even in government jobs!! It only prevents government from "establishing" a religion. Expressing your religious views is not establishing a religion. btw, Atheism is a religion.

Prayers for more people like Joe to stand up for their beliefs and their rights as citizens of the United States. God Bless him!

This is indeed a sad day when a coach can be fired for praying!

the superintendent is a coward! He should be standing with this coach, not being scared of potential opposition.

I would also hope that ADF or ACLJ will also come to the coaches aide by representing his Constitutional Right of Freedom of Religion, and that includes Personal Prayer regardless of being in public view, or not.
