The massive support for bringing back our festival proves that the community is fed up with losing our traditions. The Boys and Girls Club leadership needs to stop hiding behind excuses and start finding the money to restore what they abandoned.

My kids loved this when they were little. It would be great to have it back for the neighborhood to enjoy again.
BRING IT BACK!!! Rensselaer needs something fun like this again. We have nothing to do in the summer.
Used to go every single year with my pop. Real shame it stopped. Let us know who to pay.
Biff, we will have Rensselaer Police as well as the Rensselaer Sheriff's office providing public safety at the festival. We are also in the planning phase for requiring families to get a wrist band when they enter the festival grounds. This measure would allow us to control who is inside the fair grounds and if they are allowed to be there. Our committee staff will also be on hand walking around the festival grounds and will alert public safety officials of any problems that may occur. I hope there is no Rensselaer Fest. That many thieves, drunks, and pedophiles should never be in the same place at one time.

Too many bad people show up for these things. Keep the streets quiet instead.
