This is a very dangerous section of road that prevents many kids from riding bikes to school, and the ones that do it anyway and taking an unnecessary risk.

Hwy 9 is not friendly for walking or biking. I support any and all efforts to make SLV safer for children biking and walking to and from their school. Imagine a safe bike/pedestrian route from Felton to Ben Lomond or even better from Santa Cruz to Boulder Creek!

Keeping our children safe is our priority. Walking along a 2 lane highway is a high risk. Especially with the numerous distractions drivers encounter around a school, also the less experienced high school drivers in the area.

Both my Grandsons attend school here and I think this is very important and greatly needed for safety!

We need a safe way for our families to walk and bike to school!

We walk our children to school, and there are constantly near misses of cars so often. It is so dangerous & people have no regard that there's a school near by. Please make highway 9 safer for our children of all ages walking to school. Thanks

Can they add sidewalk bike zone to all of hwy 9? Obviously not, but wouldn't it be great if they could and we could bike to and from BC and BL.

Safety for our children and our community must be a priority on this critical corridor for the entire San Lorenzo Valley.

We are becoming more and more populous here in the SC mountains and it is ludicrous the dangers a person must face in trying to walk or bike home. For our children's safety, at the very least, approve the grant to improve Highway 9 for pedestrians! Thank you!

Felton is a beautiful community,I love looking at the scenery as I drive along the winding roads, that said, the road to the schools is very dangerous for walkers and bikers. Our two granddaughters walk that road (Highway 9) to school, I want them to be as safe as possible. PLEASE create a safe area for these children to get back and forth to school. Thank you, Marilyn S. Harrell

I fully support and encourage this effort. It supports the and safety of children and pedestrians in our community, and will encourage more people to walk rather than drive short distances.

My children are now grown, so I have no personal stake in this. But I think this would be an asset to the whole community.

With a sidewalk, we would walk to school daily. As is, this stretch of road is really dangerous. I regularly see distracted drivers veer out of lane onto the shoulder where children are walking or biking.

We've biked and walked this. It can be a very nerve wracking experience. Please improve this stretch of road to accommodate bikes and pedestrians. Thank you.
