It would seem that the school administration (Ms. Hayes) and the bishop (Mr. Caggiano) first of all, should consult the Pope on this matter. Second, they probably should learn more about Planned Parenthood. While they do provide birth control and abortion services, for a great many American women they provide an array of medical services that one would assume that the Catholic church supports.

I support Kate. She has a right to express her feelings in a non-obtrusive, non-confrontational manner.

As a Catholic woman and mother of 4 children - all by choice, I stand with Kate and with Freedom of Speech and with empowering young women to be independent and confident. Many poor women depend on Planned Parenthood for their healthcare. What message are you sending your students? Where is your humanity? Where is your respect for freedom of speech and freedom of choice? As a Catholic woman -- I stand with Kate and I stand with Planned Parenthood - but I do not stand with your hypocritical institution anymore. What is wrong with you?

As a Catholic, I believe the pro-choice position is pro-life. I applaud Kate's courage and hope she will use her strength to embrace positions which comport with her moral beliefs. The Church has no right to force its moral stance on her-or anyone. Bravo Kate!!!

How about supporting girls and their rights to decide what happens to their own bodies instead of hiding pedophiles in your ranks?

Is this the 14th century? Considering the sheer number of Catholic women using birth control and having abortions, this is BS. The Catholic Church can go join up with the likes of Quiverfull fringe nuts.

Freedom of speech! I wish religious-related schools understood what that meant.

Your school should be teaching young women to stand up for their beliefs instead of silencing them with threats. Very disappointing that this is even a conversation

Freedom of speech, and a good cause— Schools are supposed to be focused on education and increased knowledge, not suppression of it.

As a Catholic I stand with Kate. Kate is standing for women. The Church needs to do likewise.

While not legally obligated to protect the free speech of its students, CSH is acting against its core value of educating women to be independent, confident and show conviction in their character. I stand with a student who supports access to healthcare for all - especially the poor, and especially women. Advocacy for women's rights is not, by nature, anti-catholic.

Everyone should be able to express themselves, no matter who they are! This is truly disgusting that a women's school would take away this right. Planned Parenthood is one of the most powerful and incredible organizations out there! I stand with Kate!
