As a former student of CSH, I'm extremely disappointed in the administration's actions here. It is perfectly possible to uphold Pro-life beliefs while standing behind the other tremendously valuable work done by Planned Parenthood. If she had a sticker explicitly promoting abortion, the school might have a reasonable argument (as a private, catholic institution), but Planned Parenthood *does not* automatically mean pro-abortion. Shortsighted on CSH's part.

This is really disgusting to say the least. What year is this anyway? 1950? No wonder the Catholic Church is struggling. I would never send my daughters to this "learning"institution.

Shame on Sacred Heart - PP does so much for so many women - time to get out of the 1800's!

I'm class of '12 at 91st street. This is absolutely sickening. I am someone who was not catholic, but who always felt love and acceptance from attending a catholic institution. I never felt that my voice, as an avowed athiest and progressive democrat, was silenced. I was free to voice my views, disagree, and I grew as a person because of that. It is just beyond upsetting to see that CSH Greenwhich does not value the autonomy & personal development of their students as much as it values conformity of thought. And the sheer hypocricy-- Jesus didn't spread his message by making threats. If the school thinks planned parenthood is bad, then they should make the argument as to why, using words, not actions like this. I will be certain to donate money to planned parenthood in honor of Madaline Sophie Barat.

I think it is antithetical to the Sacred Heart ethos and the kind of education and support I received at the school and which I hold close to my heart. It is not your place to adjudicate what a student believes or what they choose to stand up for. It is your place to teach a student how to do this authentically and to back up their opinions and stances with facts and, indeed, ethics. At the moment, this feels alarmingly lacking at Sacred Heart.

I realize that this is a private, parochial school, but really... this is so disappointing. The student is expressing a civic minded social consciousness, not some sort of depraved debauchery. #IStandWithKate #IStandWithPlannedParenthood #RaiseKidsWhoUseTheirVoices #RaiseYoungWomenWhoPersist

This is Very Upsetting, and I'm a Catholic. Catholic schools are struggling. This is a stupid overstep on the part of the Administration. Tell her why the Church believes as it does and leave it at that. This is an Educational Institution after all. Geez. Please Stop being so counterproductive !!

Well, if someone at Sacred Heart had not learned all about Planned Parenthood before, they have now! #FoolishDoctrine

Ironic and sad that freedom of speech is most threatened by our educational institutions.
