He was the only principle I've ever liked!!! He was a military guy, supported the teachers, had strict rules and was down to earth and wasn't a puppet.

My family and I constantly talked about how well principal halt was doing at SCHS and how impressed we were with how well he handled, and fixed some of the biggest problems at our school. He was perfect for our school and he did not deserve this. #ilikemike

Mr. Halt has always been an effective man who has a good mindset and heart. He has been in the military proving his discipline and I believe he deserves the position.

We have witnessed the difference Mr. Halt has made in the very short time he's been at SCHS and believe he doesn't deserve this.

Mr. Halt has done so many good things for SCHS. Truancies are down, the students are more engaged in school, he has shown up to major school functions to support our programs, the teachers and faculty are more motivated to be better teachers, he walks into the classrooms periodically to talk to the teachers and even the students without the requirement of an administrative evaluation hanging over people's heads, faculty, and members of the Triton community. This is only a small fraction of his actions in the past year and a half and where most principles would sit back and avoid getting involved properly or at all with the school community, Mr. Halt has quickly and successfully adapted to, adopted, and improved SCHS and its learning environment. SCHS is lucky and thankful that a principal who actually wants to better the quality of education, to better the learning environment, and better the school itself by getting involved and being actively engaged with the school's programs. The ones who are most effected by Mr. Halt's absence are the students primarily and the teachers and faculty secondarily. The district could care less about hiring or firing a principal, as firing a principal under the two year probation is cost effective and if that principal has made the school too "good" then what kind of educators are the members of the Board of Trustees and the Superintendent of CUSD?

I've heard of parents not liking a principal and the administrators backing the principal fiercely. This, however, is a first. The community loves him and the administrators get rid of him and give no reason other than "fit." I'm guessing the community is a better judge of what's a good "fit" for their kids. Meanwhile, at DHHS you have a teacher being arrested.
