As an ASB member, I've always felt a close connection with Mr. Halt and I believe he is an exceptional principal, but more importantly, an exceptional person.

This is a terrible way to end a school year! This is also a terrible way to end 13 years in the Capistrano Unified School district! We now won't have our principal at our Graduation. What is wrong with our Board of Trustees and our newly appointed Superintendant! What performance records are they looking at with regard to our Principal. This seems like a political move instead of a performance issue ! Maybe we need to look at who our Board of Trustees are! This is really bad for student moral and an awful way to end a school year! "We like Mike"!

This is an abhorrent example of our school system blatant disregard for the welfare of the student and the will of the parents and community. The school board is out of touch, disinterested and politically motivated.

Principal Michael Halt has made a positive impact on my life while at San Clemente High School. However, beyond the impact he has made on me personally, his impact on the rest of the school and the entire community has been beyond meaningful and truly inspiring. In my 12 years of public education, I have never had a principal as genuinely interested and concerned about the lives and problems of their students as Michael Halt. In my eyes, Michael Halt will forever be my high school principal, even if he is not officially employed by the district. I like Mike.

Mr. Halt was the best thing that happened to our school, he was so kind & friendly to everyone around campus. He made our campus a better place.
