We need more connecting bike trails on the southside of Indianapolis.

I have been been a commuter and urban cyclist in Indy for almost 8 years and have seen a ton of improvement over the years. I want this trend to continue!

I love what Indianapolis has done for bicycling but more needs to be done. I mainly commute to work by bike for multiple reasons. It helps the environment, keeps me fit, it's fun, and I love supporting Indy businesses. Everyday I ride I notice something that could make bicycling safer across the city. Protected bike lanes, warning signs (especially on the cultural trail on Washington St between Delaware and Penn where people turn into a parking garage - I've been nearly hit twice), and general cycling awareness ads. I love this city and I love how many people I see riding their bike to work. Let's continue to make Indy a fit community, a clean community, and a community with multiple transportation options.

Promoting bike riding and safety is critical for the protection of your constituents, and fundamental to a vibrant city scene.

Living downtown, it is obvious to see how important cycling is for the residents. I do wish we had more bike lanes and definitely support the planned growth of the network of bike paths such as the Fall Creek Trail. They are wonderful to ride on and allow bikes and runners to not have to compete for space with cars.

My adult children are cyclists and use this as a primary mode of transportation. One daughter works for a local cycle.co.ponent designer and manufacturer here in Indy. This supports the hobbyists and local economy!

The more bicycle paths created the more riders we will get! This is a great sport and and actual alternative form of transportation that does not pollute, cause traffic jams, or kills people in accidents! Let our city be known for many safe bike paths and recreational trails!

Bicycles are for transportation, fitness, recreation, adults, children, athletes, racing, pavement, dirt, freedom, stress relief, I could go on... Please continue to invest in Indy's bicycle culture, including natural surface trails!

No matter how much IndyCog or anyone else was to talk up how bike friendly this city is, it is absolutely not. Indianapolis will never be safe for bicyclists until there is a good network of greenways, trails, and PROTECTED BIKE LANES. Indiana and indianapolis has too much of a car culture for this city to ever be truly safe for bicyclists.
