This is the worst location to put a shelter! Its dead center in our city and this will drive away our tourist annually profits. This facility needs to be build far out in the south valley or rio rancho and away from businesses

This is one of the Mayor's more ignorant ideas. How about to you do something about the crime in this city.

Clean up the problem don’t add more. Provide housing with responsibilities. The Barrett House is a great model to follow

There are better options than the Crown Plaza that save the taxpayers on money.

Such a bad idea. They need to come up with treatment programs for the drugs and mental illness they suffer from. NOT a place for them to trash and destroy and put public safety at risk

Can you imagine how dangerous it would be for the employees?

Build it and they will come. Please, PLEASE do not make the horrible mistake of putting a 400 bedroom homeless shelter as the skyline in the middle of the city. I work on University and Indian School. We have homeless yelling at our customers, everyday. They enter our office, loot, vandalize, steal, threaten. Why should the center of the city be a sanctuary for homeless? Why should this not be located outside the city? Where there is no desire to panhandle. No access to drugs. Please save this city.

The surrounding hotels will suffer decreased customers so tourism will be affected as well as the other surrounding businesses

I’m worried about not having a safe home to live in any longer if this happens. I live nearby and have already felt the increase of homeless in my neighborhood. This has added fear as they have knocked on my door at late hours while impaired, passed out on our sidewalk, leaving shopping carts fool of trash in our neighborhood and needles filling our nearby park. I will unfortunately be selling my house if this happens.

There are so many different locations that could be used. I hate the fact that our narrow minded elected officials always just throw money at the problem with no planning or substainable continuation of the project.
stop californiaing out state!!!! red wave!!!

Totally understand the sentiment but this needs to be better planned out and downtown needs to be cleaned up before more potential issues are added.

Horrible idea!!!! This is nothing more than bringing the projects back. I have lived in Chicago, i have lived in DC and VA. I know what the projects do, did, and have done to areas. Caprini green was a cest pool even after it was condemned and the area never recovered. Still to this day! HORRIBLE idea.
