I have found this disease to be the last straw as I already suffer from hypothyroidism. It is truly debilitating and I now discover that due to my age it is unlikely I will get the operation I need.

I had HyperPARAthyroid disease for years in my 20's. I kept going back to the doctor telling them something was wrong and they kept putting me on different anti-depressants. I was only diagnosed after *I* figured it out and asked for the test myself. Then it took 2 surgeries to cure me because clearly doctors do not know enough about this disease!

What a SHAME, when Doctors use stupid excuses for what a Person is experiencing and feeling. People come for their help only to get pushed away . And because the doctors ignorance, the person gets worse off as time goes by. When a person goes to the hospital for kidney stones, why don't they test for Calcium levels? When people are told they have osteopenia, why don't they test their calcium levels ? OUR bodies give us clues and symptoms but doctors overlook it and get the person checked for Parathyroid, calcium levels and more... They need to learn to stay on top of things instead of pushing the person away. People know their own bodies and know something is not right. Doctors need to be more aware too.

Parathyroid.com says you can have adenoma tumors in your chest cavity as well . I had a mass in my lung which they took the top Lobe of my lung out., along with a lymph node. Now I find I have another mass like from a cat scan in my chest cavity again along with 3 other lymph nodes enlarged. This was all done 5 years ago. And I'm just now finding out that I have Hyperparathyroid with all the symptoms. And all this may be connect together. You may want to get check out for more tumors elsewhere besides your neck.

I cannot find a doc, Endo or any other hospital consultant who knows or wants to understand this disease. They go by out-dated blood ref ranges and normal ;one size fits all mentality.

Long term suffer over 20 years now 3 failed operations and I am completely disgusted with the nhs and their poor treatment and knowledge on this life threatening condition.

Not sure how long I've had this awful disease, constantly told it was the menopause, thankfully a trainee GP picked it up 10 months ago but still waiting for surgery, estimated date July next year!

First went to Dr. around 2005 not feeling well with a list of complaints including many of those above mentioned. Blood test showed 'calcium slightly high' (whatever that meant)! Dr said there was no problem. Googled it, but at that time, only info on hypercalceamia was for care of terminal cancer patients. Many years, searches, and Facebook pages later, I am, as are thousands of others, self diagnosed. Have never had a calcium lower than 10.2 (US) yet was told only last week, by my latest Dr that my blood calcium is within the 'normal range' @ 10.4

I just been diagnosed ,no Dr is taking me serious. I lost my job, just can't function, very weak , not getting any help .

Had the symptoms for almost half my life before haveing a TIA in 2010...'ectomy' in 2011 gave me my life back. This disease costs a fortune in mis/undiagnosis a relatively simple op is the cure!
