2014 Alumni. CV is better than this. Listen to the parents and the teachers. Do what’s best for the community and allow a hybrid option.

2013 alum here. Too many people have died and COVID has still not gone away — we need to do the smart thing and keep people as safe as possible. Adopt the hybrid model.

Student at CV. Watching all the other schools in states that reopen, begin to shut down or have Covid cases, is scary. We look to you as the adult's who are supposed to make the best decisions in our BEST interest. Not political, not non science based, but ones that are expected to keep us healthy, and safe. Sadly, that is not happening right now. Hybrid would offer us that safe option. It's the new normal of keeping us and our teacher's who we adore safe...make that choice for hybrid and safety.

As much as I want my kids back in school, I want them to be safe even more. Hybrid or virtual is our best option.

CV alumna, Class of ‘14 Not only would it be incredibly irresponsible to reopen the schools in-person as originally planned, but also appallingly disrespectful of the students, families, faculty, and staff who have vocalized their concerns and will be the individuals most at-risk of a fully in-person semester. According to the school board’s “philosophy” toward COVID-19 policies and procedures (as listed on the website), they should be “Provid[ing] appropriate options for our students and families”, and “Continu[ing] to practice patience, grace, understanding and flexibility”. I could list more points from that same slide deck but based on the fact that multiple options and flexibility are explicitly stated there as part of the philosophy, the school board would be hypocritical to not reconsider a hybrid option. The bottom line is that a hybrid approach would only help protect the school district and its most vulnerable. Our district is fortunate to have so many wonderful teachers and staff members who love their job, their students, and their community, and are willing to be innovative in their approach to make it work. However, a strictly in-person approach to the new school year gives absolutely no room for that to happen and would be an embarrassing and dangerous move on our school board’s part.

We must think of the safety of our students and teachers. A hybrid model can make it safer for all.

I am a teacher at CV. Safety of our students, teachers, and staff, and the CV community at large must come first. We know that Indoor spaces with crowds are high risk situations for the spread of Covid19 especially without the ability to social distance. The hybrid model will reduce the number of students in a space at any given time and will allow students to social distance. This is also recommended by the PDE. Please keep us all safe.
