2013 Alum. Disappointed to see this is the direction the school board is choosing for the district. Please reconsider — lives are literally on the line. I know we all want to get back to “normal” operations, but the risk is just not worth it right now.

CV Alumna, Class of ‘14
People are dying from COVID-19, and not just a few here and there. It is irresponsible and naïve to believe that CV can return to “normal” when we are still seeing an increase in cases. Without a hybrid model in place, you force students, teachers, and family members to adhere to a system that is actively showing that CV admin does not care about their well-being. What about students who are immunocompromised, or living with someone who is? If you mandate in-person instruction, you are telling them that in-person education is more important than their life, or their family member’s life. Do the right thing, the EMPATHETIC thing that sets the right example for the children you are educating: adopt a hybrid model.

I’m an alum from CV. Hybrid is not only a safer option than full, in-person teaching, it’s also a step forward into letting students learn at a pace that’s more comfortable for them. I loved my time at CV because of the people who taught, coached, and mentored me. I believe they deserve to have their voices heard, and to feel safe when they head back to teaching in just a few short weeks.

Thank you for considering a hybrid model, A/B schedule, delayed school year start and other options to provide the safest environment possible in the time of this Pandemic

Alum: Teachers should feel safe in their classrooms and this is just a common sense approach. Please don't let the legacy of my Alma Mater be that it was too ignorant to follow very basic guidelines and steam roll unions. CV claims to care about Character, Community, and Commitment so let's act like that's true and listen to the teachers and do the right thing by offering the hybrid model.

CV class of 2015. Do the right thing and adopt the hybrid model. It is your job to keep faculty/staff and students safe! Not only are there at risk students and staff, but at risk family members that students will be going home to.
