Please consider the value this greenway would add to our beautiful neighborhood! Not to mention the safety of those of us who walk and bike in the area.

It would be wise to have a crosswalk at the intersection of 244 and Wedgewood Dr.

I have lived in the Wedgewood neighborhood for over 20+ years and have always believed that the intersection of 244 and Wedgewood is just an accident waiting to happen. Many, many times I have tried to cross to no avail. People are driving fast and do not want to stop for a pedestrian or do not see the pedestrian. All we have ever wanted was some type of signal - a stop light or flashing lights - to make drivers aware of pedestrians. Many times I have seen someone try to cross only to have one direction stop but not the other. Or, cars that stop from one direction with a person in the turning lane from the opposite direction, then as the pedestrian is crossing almost get hit by a car that just goes around the car in the turn lane. This so dangerous! Having flashing lights or a stop sign is so obvious to us in the Wedgewood neighborhood. The park is used by bikers, rollerbladers, and walkers coming from all directions. Please place either a stop sign or flashing light at this intersection BEFORE someone is killed.

The crosswalk to get across 244 from Wedgewood Drive is very dangerous. Motor vehicles do not stop or slow when pedestrians are standing by the side of the road, even with the yellow crosswalk sign. This intersection is a frequent crossing point for children and dog walkers.

it's time to do it right. This is no longer a rural drive-through, it's a residential area and the greenway should reflect that.

The coming and going from Birchwood Rd is also dangerous. The access to Wildwood Park and Catherine Abbott from Birchwood Rd through Willernie is very out of the way.

I would like to slow down the traffic and create a more user friendly for all types of transportation and walkers into the communities of Willernie and Mahtomedi. It is a bucolic scene as you enter between the two ponds. Let’s take advantage of it!

I support this petition for improved crosswalks, a lower speed limit, traffic calming, and safer lanes for bikes and pedestrians. This is our chance to get it right on 244/12, for both foot-powered and motorized transportation.
