Having lived on Wedgewood for 21 years, I can recall only once when cars stopped to allow kids to walk across 244 to the park on the north side of the street. Even years ago when I was pushing my stroller and tried to cross I was honked at by a car. A stoplight is critical at this intersection.

They should reduce the speed from 45 mph to 30mph at the intersection of 244 and Birchwood rd. That would reduce the number of traffic incidents.

We should encourage and expand the use of human powered transportation. Health effects caused by obesity can be linked to more than 650,000 deaths in the US each year - far more than COVID-19. Obesity is a health crisis that can be positively impacted by helping to make human powered transportation safer and easier.

Please make safer roots for bicycles and pedestrians. Also 30 mph speed limits on residential streets is too fast!

Please prioritize pedestrian and bicycle safety by narrowing auto lanes to calm traffic, painting wider bike/ped. lanes on both sides, and lowering the speed limit to 30 or 35.

Would love to see a reduction to the speed limit or at the very least, a consistency to the posted speeds (40mph in one direction and 45mph in the other, at the same spot). Especially along Wedgewood Park/at the crosswalk. Would love to safely walk and bike along 244 along Lost Lake - a separation from the highway would be nice.
