I encourage everyone to comment on this forum and to show up tomorrow in support.

It's a way to conserve energy and it's convient for other going to school out of city.

Some have suggested that the LRT will undermine the heritage character of downtown Brampton and the Main Street corridor. This is a lack-luster and poorly reasoned argument. Yes, the main street corridor's historic charm is absolutely lovely, but how does a modern LRT driving alongside already modern cars and modern buses in front of a contemporary steel and glass City Hall expansion undermine the downtown's character? Perhaps we should only permit horses and buggies to operates to operate in these areas. An LRT will only drive more "pedestrian" traffic to downtown Brampton, which is essential if a university is to be located here.

I agree with the lrt route straight down Main Street to downtown brampton station.

This last election and the new slate of councillors at Brampton City Hall represent an enormous opportunity for Brampton to really get it right when it comes to infrastructure planning and economic growth. Any councillor serious about attracting a university to Brampton must stand in support of the LRT, as they are tightly fitting pieces to the puzzle of creating a vibrant and prosperous Brampton. The pros to an LRT clearly outweigh the cons. The province is willing to contribute a significant some of money and the pay-off for the downtown's economic development could be huge, especially if the university is located there. This is an opportunity of a lifetime that we cannot throw away. It's not always about doing what your constituents say with a view to getting re-elected, but about doing what's best for the City. If any councillor opposes the LRT because he or she believes it's not right for City, then stand up, make your case and provide those reasons clearly.

We cannot continue to be slaves to the automobile. If Brampton ever wants to graduate to a legitimate city to in which to live rather than simply Toronto's bedroom, then we need to suck it up and grow up. Let's get the LRT built for our future generations.

This is a needed thing in brampton

Hurontario rd is the busiest road in brampton and mississauga and they also connect two of the most busiest cities in ontario besides toronto. Brampton is expected to grow at a rapid rate and to support the economic growth you need to continually update your transportation systems for it to sustain. LRT is an effective and efficient transportation update to the infrastructure which will put brampton and mississauga ahead of the curve in terms of economic growth and spur many incentives for the government.

This is a great idea and initiative. Our transit system needs a better link to Mississauga that goes past shoppers world. We need to get this pushed through for the future of our city.

This service will help increase the city of brampton's gross. These funds can be used to create more facilities.

I support the lrt in Brampton and think its a positive move going forward for the development of the city. In terms of development, Brampton is far behind Mississauga, Markham, and surrounding cities and I think this decision will greatly impact the future of this city. Please look at the bigger picture and do what's right for the city of Brampton. Residents in Brampton deserve much more.

This is a must and it is going to add up to the beauty.

Brampton needs this. As both a driver and user of transit, I see this as a plus. It will bring more business into Brampton.

Build LRT, hmm can a turrnel or a bridge be built for the downtown core area ?? It may have multiple uses. A thought to ponder on.
