Hurlie substation resubmission objection-Save Our Mearns

This scale development would cause real harm.

I hereby register my objection to SSEN's resubmitted application in addition to my original objection sent to Aberdeenshire Council in January 2025 within the original deadline for comments

I back this petition. The developer is motivated by profit, and the substation, along with giant OHLs, will be detrimental to our beautiful Scottish countryside, as well as ruining the lives of those farming and living in the local area.

There needs to be proper consultation and a less profit based, more truly environmental approach to future energy submissions

I 100% back this petition. This is vandalism of our countryside all for greed of the big companies. Why can they not be buried like other countries are doing. This should all be rejected and sent back to the drawing board. Consultations have been very poorly handled and some have even felt intimidated by the use of ‘bouncers’ on the doors.

Ridiculous level of vandalistic industrialisation

Why ruin our unspoiled countryside forever when the power lines can be buried? Why does profit / greed always have to come first?

This is a horrible legacy to leave future generations.

This scheme has been flawed from the very start, with no genuine regard for local concerns. The human and environmental damage will be evident for generations if this is allowed to continue. The substation and OHL should not be granted permission to destroy the area and SSE should be exposed for their constant deception.

Strongly oppose this project due to the huge impact it will have on the North East of Scotland and individuals, who, due to the life changing nature of the proximity to homes, will be dreadfully impacted.

Stop the industrialisation of NE Scotland. This planned infrastructure has so many flaws that SSEN are refusing to address - both at substation and OHL level. With all further OHLs now going subsea the approval of Hurlie Substation for an OHL would be a catastrophic error by Aberdeenshire Council who will not be putting their residents first.

I support this petition against development of this project.

This project has been rushed. It has not been thought through and it is not environmentally friendly or necessary destroying so much agricultural land and forestry.
