We the undersigned hereby request that the rules and regulations be changed with the Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries as relating to the policy of not allowing the motorist who kills an animal in an accident the right to give the game to whomever they wish. A verbal agreement should be allowed to give the animal to whomever they wish, instead of having to leave it along the side of the road to waste.This should also apply to a mandatory requirement for those people who choose to apply and receive a kill permit to give the food grade animals to shelters or an organization such as hunters for the hungry to help supply much needed food for those less fortunate. I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum this has gained lately and I never thought this would reach so many people. This belongs to all of you who saw the sense in this change and decided to lend your strength to the cause.

Well, I guess I broke the law a few years back when a deer was killed near my house and the motorist did not want it and the police at the scene told me to take it if I wanted it. The car had severe damage. The doe a broken neck and no damage to the meat which was used.
so many animals go to waste when they are left laying there. That meat could feed so many families that are struggling to put meat on the table. My family and myself will stand behind Mr. Dickerson 100%!!
This is a law that needs to be changed. so many wasted animals left lying on the sides of the road when it coulf be used to eat. a person shouldn't be punished for feeding their family.
Alot of good could come from families that need or want this access to meat . If the person that hits the animal doesn't want it no reason for waste .
There was nothing wrong with letting someone have the bear. The man that hit it said he could have it. Never wanted to eat bear meat, but sure would help someone else
Also wish roadkill can be collected if called into authorities properly and given okay.

Please use good judgement and change the law. This death does not need to be wasted. We are caretakers of this Earth so do not let common sense go out the door. Do not penalize all because of a few.
