This is terrible if true, warm up exercises do not need to consist of a 6 minute run. Stretches and other exercises are sufficient to warm the muscles up, I ask do the teachers also do the warm up run, I bet they don't, they'll just stand where they can watch and bark they're orders, I do think the children who can't manage will be bullied, it happens in every school to different levels, although it will be a case of, " there's no bullying in our school ". All I can say, is its a good job my child attended a way more tolerant school, very close to this one.

Disgusting behaviour from the teachers, should be encouraging kids not demoralizing them. I went to this school and the teachers where great , just shows how times change and not for the good on this occasion.

The school definitely needs to be more inclusive! Maybe anxiety and body issues training would help, also.

I have a younger brother aged 6 who attends a primary school in Chorley and I would be very upset if this went on in his PE lesson therefore I am passionate about singing this.

absolutely ridiculous. Is it a school or a military training camp. PE is supposed to be the fun team work part of schooling. In the health side of this it could be extremely dangerous to MAKE people run this long if they are not physically capable.

My daughter is currently in year 9 and has just confirmed that this is happening with every lesson! I’m shocked and disgusted! Every persons fitness lessons are different and it takes time and effort for changes to take effect. Demoralising children can lead to stress & anxiety which is wrong! I’ve also just been told that following this so called warm up, the children are then told to get the PE equipment out and set it up. if it’s then set up incorrectly the children are asked to perform sit ups as punishment!!! I’ll certainly be emailing my opinions to the head teacher.

Are you sure you have your facts straight? This isn't what I know happens in that lesson. British children are the most obese in Europe at the moment so it is good to see a school take this seriously!!

Its not only the PE classes that the teachers are screaming at the kids. I hear of something every day.

Teacher training does not include this type of bullying or any other type; more specifically, a teacher has a duty of care for the students that they have in their custody.

Let them do the run at there own pace in there own time!! Some children are fitter then others and the only way there going to manage is by getting a little better everytime it's done

Ridiculous in this day and age that Army style team building should be used in a Children's PR Lesson, what are they thinking !!

This wouldn’t be happening to my child at their school, kids shouldn’t be humiliated into anything!! That school should be ashamed making kids feel like this!!
