There's nothing wrong with 6 minutes of running, teachers do this to get children to get more active and get healthier, I know this from personal experience, it's benefitted a lot of people I know who have also done this and although it's hard to do it helps massively

What a shame if my daughter had to do this I would go mad and she wouldn't be in any more pe lessons until it changed and stop shaming them..

Children should be encouraged to enjoy their lessons not to dread them.

Having some insight to what has been going on at this school with regards to the PE lessons, the PE teacher needs to be reported to the relevant authorities as it is bullying. I cannot abide this sort of intimidation of pupils as it has a lasting detrimental effect on the child and their families.

Although I agree competition is healthy and part of life, and exercise is of utmost importance, this practice is singling out children in front of their peers to not only be less able, but to be derided for being so. Surely we should be encouraging our children to help one another. That is one of lifes great lessons too. If our children were taught to look out for one another and to appreciate that everyone has their own individual strengths and weaknesses, we would be raising a generation who are kinder and better equipped to deal with the troubles this world forces upon us. From my understanding of what is happening, this is bullying and an army style tactic to get children to conform to the teachers will. This is not encouraging or attempting to get the best out of any child who is obviously struggling to achieve the teachers idea of a warm up. How demoralising. How upsetting. How to teach a child to absolutely dread the next lesson because he/she knows what coming. This practice is out-moded, discriminatory against those less active and teaches other children in that class to ridicule their peers.

This is bullying. Not everyone is the same capability.i was never a good runner, it sounds more like boot camp than a warm up!!!ive been to excercise classes and a warm up and the rest of the class excercises is varied in positions or ways to suit everyones needs. Nobody is perfect and nobody should dread doing any subjects because of narrow minded bullies!!!!!

Differentiation & inclusion is a vital element in order to retain a Good offsted grading as well as being the primary expectation of parents sending their children for an education and development of self confidence.

My daughter who has only just started in year 7 has been made to do push ups after other kids have stopped running which is a complete and utter disgrace non of the children should have to be treated like that its completely inhumane

I went to this school and this is ridiculous. Unhealthy behaviour from the teachers as it is their job to teach respect and acceptance to the pupils. Instead of ridiculing pupils, which is going to been seen as normal if the teachers are doing it too!

The six minute run is not the issue it’s the way it’s restarted when one or any child struggles to keep up, this will grantee to cause bulling and stress towards the children who struggle due to their own personal reasons. This desperately needs to change as it is affecting a lot of children’s outlook towards school and their future education.

I have picked my grandson up from school after he has been in a severe anxious state because of PE and it's heart breaking to see a child like this!!
