Too many times have escaped animals been killed because police departments were unprepared to deal with tranquilizing guns. Just recently, in Ohio, a massive number of tigers and mountain lions were killed because the police station was not trained or prepared to deal with the escaped animals. No longer should this be an issue. Police Departments must make proper training a priority. There have been many sightings of large cats around the Lake County and Cook County area, and our police stations need to be prepared to deal with the animals in humane ways. Cook and Lake County police departments must obtain the materials that will be needed to tranquilize large animals and they need to either train or re-train police officers so that they are prepared to deal with such situations. By doing this, there should be no reason for escaped animals to be killed.
