We are seeking to establish a county seizure fund for assets that are obtained from prosecuted human trafficking cases. This fund will be in place, to assist in the readiness of local law enforcement to combat human trafficking, and also the rehabilitation of victims involved in trafficking. The fund will distribute to local law enforcement for the purpose of further training and equipment for human trafficking units. In addition, funds will be distributed to a non-profit organization that handles the rehabilitation of victims. To properly petition the local county government, we must show them that human trafficking is an issue that needs to be addressed and it is a real concern in North Texas.
We petition the local Collin County Commissioner's Court, in the interest of preserving human rights, to establish a local county seizure fund from the funds seized in the prosecution of human trafficking cases.
